Apex Mountain Resort  Discover Apex, a hidden gem in Canadian skiing. Just 30 minutes from Penticton in the sunny Okanagan Valley, Apex is a full service destination resort boasting Okanagan powder, great weather, incredible terrain, and friendly people.  The mountain boasts more than 1112 acres of natural terrain, with a diverse selection of bowls, gullies, mogul fields, glades and groomed cruising runs.  Five chairs which include, a high-speed detachable quad, a T-bar and a beginners handle tow allow skiers and snowboarders to slide down any of the more than 60 trails.  The village at Apex is a friendly place, with retail shops, restaurants and night life. Families can enjoy horse-drawn sleigh rides, ice skating and movies.  Nordic skiers have 56 km of scenic trails to explore.

 

Cypress Mountain Located just outside of Vancouver, Cypress Mountain is a riders haven. Just a short trip up the road and one is able to experience the famous powder of BC. Located in the North Shore Mountains, Cypress Mountain offers big riding with big city convenience. With five lifts servicing 38 trails, Cypress Mountain is a haven for riders who are looking for an area that is close by. Cypress Mountain is made up of Strachan Mountain and Black Mountain with all levels of terrain for all types of riders. In adddition, cross-country and snowshoeing enthusiasts have lots of terrain to explore as well. XC and snowshoers have over 19 and 10 km respectively of trails and Cypress Mountain offers full service expertise to make this adventure fun.

 

Mount Seymour  Located in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Mount Seymour has the highest base elevation and the deepest annual snowfall of all the local mountains. Only 22 km from downtown Vancouver, Mount Seymour has a base elevation of 1,010 m and a 1,400 m summit. The mountain has varied terrain and consists of 40 percent intermediate, 40 percent beginner and 20 percent advanced. There are four chairlifts and two beginner tows. The longest run is 2.4 km, the vertical drop-nearly 400 m and the average snowfall is 400 cm.  A ski school caters to all ages and abilities, and rental services (full ski and snowboard) are available.

 

Grouse Mountain  Only 15 minutes from downtown Vancouver, Grouse Mountain is the only local mountain with snowmaking capabilities, ensuring maximum snow coverage and excellent texture on every run. Plus, when the sun goes down, the lights go on, so you can keep on skiing and boarding into the night. This area offers great views, 22 runs from beginning to expert and four double chair lifts.  Additional features of Grouse Mountain include snowshoe tours, helicopter rides with breathtaking views of B.C.'s incredible mountains and valleys and a skyride from North America's largest aerial tramway system.

 

Silver Star Mountain Resort is a scenic, year-round family vacation destination featuring an abundance of snow during winter, numerous adventure activities during summer and a cozy, comfortable and welcoming village every season. Two mountain faces, Vance Creek and Putnam Creek, are blanketed with an average annual snowfall of 23 feet , providing an average snow pack of 245cm (8 ft). The feather-light snow is groomed to perfection with plenty left over for the powder hounds, especially in the 300 acres of open bowl or glade terrain. Vance Creek, the south face, features predominantly intermediate and novice terrain with a few expert options accessed from the summit. Putnam Creek, the north face, is home to some of the most challenging terrain found anywhere. Expert runs plummet through narrow gullies and exhilarating chutes, and there are 11 double black diamond runs.

 

Hemlock Valley  Tucked away high above Harrison Lake, Hemlock Resort is a quaint alpine community comprised of log cabins, town houses, condominiums and a daylodge. Hemlock is an intermediate mountain -- 60 percent of the 34 trails are rated intermediate, with the balance divided equally between beginner and expert -- covering 250 acres of skiable terrain. Three chairlifts and a handle tow quickly take skiers and snowboarders to nicely groomed runs and open bowls.  Nordic skiers are not forgotten at Hemlock. Cross-country trails have been improved and the facilities expanded recently. Hemlock allows cross country skiers, however the ski areas does not groom our runs.

 

Sun Peaks With 3678 acres and 2891 vertical feet of fall line downhill on three mountains, all skiing nicely into one well planned village, Sun Peaks Resort is an experience that will change the way you view winter resorts forever.  Sun Peaks has some other claims to fame, such as the best grooming in Western Canada and the best weather for skiing in Canada (Sun Peaks averages over 2000 hours of sunshine per year).  There is no lack of things to do once the sun does go down at Sun Peaks Resort, with numerous pubs, restaurants, a rockin� night club, skating rinks, tube park, etc. to give the whole gang maximum value during their holiday. There are also another dozen or so non-ski activities such as dog sledding, snowmobile tours, and snowshoeing should you wish to take a day off the slopes.


 

Whistler Blackcomb  Over 8,100 acres of skiable terrain, 12 alpine bowls and more than 200 runs.

Big White boasts a longer than average ski season running from mid-November to mid-April. This is due to the 750 cm (300 inches) of snow received annually. With four high-speed quads and nine lifts, skiers and snowboarders can explore a wide range of terrain, including phenomenal powder bowls, glades and marked trails. Big White also has three state of the art snowboard parks and half-pipes built to competition standards. There are also 25 km(15.5 miles) of cross-country trails. The Bullet high-speed quad and Plaza quad chairs access night skiing and riding five nights a week. 38 acres are illuminated for night skiing and riding.Big White Ski Resort has one of the largest International Ski Schools with  programs designed for all ages and abilities.
